An addictively delicious blue cheese dressing that is wonderful for salads, crudité, roasted vegetables, pizza or with hot wings and celery.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ounces crumbled blue cheese
  • 1/2 cup good quality buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise (I particularly like Japanese Kewpie mayo)
  • 1 T lemon juice
  • 1/2 t garlic powder
  • 1 T high quality extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 t – 1 T Worcestershire sauce, to taste
  • Kosher salt and fresh ground pepper
  • A handful of chopped fresh herbs, such as chives, dill or tarragon

Instructions

  1. Mash the blue cheese up with a fork leaving some larger crumbles. Whisk in buttermilk, sour cream, mayonnaise, lemon juice, garlic powder and olive oil. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Refrigerate until ready to use. Right before serving stir in fresh herbs.
  3. Will keep in the fridge for a week.

Notes

  1. I prefer garlic powder as it dissolves into the dressing and provides uniform flavor. You can also use a very finely minced garlic.
