Easy and quick

Punch up your rice

Add some zip to your rice with a little fresh mint, cilantro and lime. Its easy and it punches up the flavor of plain steamed rice.

  • Rinse your rice until the rinse water runs clear before cooking it.
  • You can make this rice using a rice pot, just add the herbs after rice is done.

Add some zip to your rice with a little fresh mint and lime. Its easy and it punches up the flavor of plain steamed rice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cup jasmine rice
  • 1 3/4 cups water
  • Zest and juice from1 to 2 limes
  • 2 T fresh chopped mint
  • 2 T fresh chopped cilantro

Instructions

  1. Rinse your rice until the rinse water runs clear. Put rice, juice from 1 lime juice and water in a pot. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to low and cover for 20 minutes. Turn off heat and remove pan from burner. Let sit and do not remove lid for 10 minutes.
  2. Stir in mint and cilantro. Taste and add more lime juice if desired.
